Madeira early morning fog
Journal
Madeira in the mist. Wet moss, gnarled trees and a quiet morning in the forest.
I set out early, without a fixed plan. Individual trees emerged from the white mist, their branches disappearing into it again. Edges softened, and the landscape became increasingly pared back.
I am drawn to the small differences here: the curve of a branch, the texture of bark, light between the treetops. These photographs capture how that morning felt to me.
